Manchester Obituary: Elaine Ritz, 85

Elaine Donna Applegate Ryan Ritz, of Manchester, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

She was born in Dover, NJ on April 22, 1933, and was adored by her late mother, Minnie Alice Applegate. Elaine worked for many years and retired from Hartford Public Schools, where she was fortunate to meet the man of her dreams, Robert Ritz. They have been happily married and madly in love for 36 years.

Elaine was known for her gourmet cooking, being an avid reader, and loved playing cards with her friends.

Along with her devoted husband, Robert, Elaine leaves three daughters; Jacqueline Ryan of Glastonbury, Patti White and her husband Rob of Canton, and Lori Connors and her husband Bill of West Hartford. She was predeceased by her eldest and only son Robert James Ryan in 2016. She also leaves seven grandchildren; Joshua Ryan, Shelby Ryan, Ryan Kelly and his wife Tina, Haley Connors, Alyse White, Matthew White, and Dana Anderson and one great grandson, Noah Kelly.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, June 8th, from 4:30 – 7 pm at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 9th at 10 am at the St. Christopher campus of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be at Neipsic Cemetery, Glastonbury.
