Manchester Obituary: Frances Shannon, 92

Frances B. Shannon, 92, of Manchester, formerly of East Hartford the wife of the late Thomas J. Shannon died on Thursday, October 12, 2017.

She was born in Manchester the daughter of Frank and Margaret (McCann) Edmunds, and had lived in East Hartford for 50 years.

A dedicated mother and grandmother, she is survived by her children John Shannon and his wife Nancy of Niantic, Jean Donahue and her husband Bob of Columbia, Tom Shannon of Glastonbury and Peter Shannon and his wife Mary Kay of Windsor; her grandchildren Katie and Patrick, Kristin and Sarah and Kelly, Molly and Abby; her great-grandchildren Zackary and Elise; and several nieces and nephews. Frances was also predeceased by her sister Mary E. Edmunds.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 – 11:00.
