Manchester Obituary: Margaret Anastasio, 57

Condolences to her family and friends.

Margaret (Litrico) Anastasio, 57, of South Windsor, beloved wife of James Anastasio for 31 years, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Hartford Hospital.

She was born in Manchester to the late Domenico and Frances (Felice) Litrico on August 31, 1959. Margaret grew up in Manchester graduating from Manchester High School in 1977. She attended Western Connecticut State University and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1981. She took much pride in her work at Manchester Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She would continue her education earning certification with the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society.

Margaret also had a deep religious faith, she was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor as well as a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Margaret was selfless, family orientated, and loved her sons unconditionally.

She is survived by her loving husband James Anastasio; her sons David Anastasio, Airman of the United States Air Force, of New Jersey; Kevin Anastasio of Ellington; her brother Paul Litrico and his wife Marybeth of Manchester; her sisters Ann Lang and her husband Robert of Coventry, Angela Chirico and her husband Vincent of Coventry; her very close friend Cindy Smith and her husband Frank; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is being held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 10 am at Saint Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor, leaving from the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at Hillstown Road Cemetery in Manchester. Calling Hours are being held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor from 4 to 7 pm.
