Manchester Police Officer Resigns Amid Domestic Charges
A veteran of the Manchester police force has resigned amid a set of active domestic violence charges.

MANCHESTER, CT — A veteran of the Manchester police force has resigned amid a set of active domestic violence charges, town officials said.
Jason Wagner, who was on the job for nearly 17 years, is facing charges that include second-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct. His next scheduled court date is May 1.
According to case records, Wagner had been on paid leave amid an investigation into allegations that he may have verbally and physically abused another officer while they were in a relationship. The criminal investigation began on Jan. 23, according to case records.

Wagner submitted his letter of resignation Wednesday and it became effective Thursday, town officials said.
Town officials said that Wagner is eligible to receive a monthly estimated pension totaling $4,393, based on his three highest compensation years, beginning in October 2028, when he turns 50.
