Manchester's Tylon Smith Named to ECAC All-Star Team

Manchester’s Tylon Smith, a senior on the Southern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team, was recently selected to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference’s (ECAC) Division II All-Star Team.

Smith was honored along with teammate Luke Houston (of Pearl River, N.Y.). Smith was a First Team honoree, while Houston landed on the Second Team.

This season, Smith has been named a Division II Second Team All-American by the Basketball Times and an All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
He was also named a First Team All-Northeast-10 Conference selection, First Team All-District selection by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), Second Team Daktronics All-East Region selection and a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-American, all for the second consecutive year. Smith was also selected to play in the Reese’s Division II College All-Star Game in Evansville, Ind.

Houston earned Second Team All-Conference Honors in 2015 after finishing the season averaging 17.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He ranked fifth in the NE-10 and 26th in the nation by shooting 43.7 percent from 3-point range and led the team with 56 steals.
