Part of Spring Street in Manchester Now Closed Until Aug. 23
The town is doing summer construction on a bridge for the next month and traffic will be detoured.

A portion of Spring Street will be closed to traffic from now until Aug. 23 so that the town can do rehabilitation of the Spring Street Bridge over Birch Mountain Brook.
In a notice from the Manchester Matters service, the town informs residents that the portion of the road between the Gardner Street and Glen Road intersections will be not be accessible.
Traffic will be detoured around the bridge closure via Gardner Street and Highland Street through Aug. 23.
The rehabilitation of the existing one‐lane masonry bridge over the Birch Mountain Brook will include the reconstruction of the masonry parapet walls, replacement of the travel surface and the installation of new timber guide rail at the bridge approaches, the town said.
The project will also include resurfacing of the road between the bridge and Glen Road.
Beyond Aug. 23, any remaining work will be performed utilizing one way traffic control during work hours.
Case Mountain trail users are encouraged to utilize the trailheads on Birch Mountain Road or Line Street as parking at the Spring Street trailhead will be limited during construction.
