3-Year-Old Killed In Collision With Motor Vehicle In Manchester: Police
Manchester police said a car collided with a child Wednesday morning and the encounter proved to be fatal.

MANCHESTER, CT β A 3-year-old died after she was hit by a car on East Center Street Wednesday morning, police said.
The incident took place at 4:36 a.m. in the area of 375 East Center St., police said.
According to an incident report, a 49-year-old Manchester man was operating a motor vehicle westbound on East Center Street, and it struck a 3-year-old from Manchester.

Police officers and the Manchester Fire Department arrived at the scene and immediately initiated life-saving measures, according to an incident report. The child was transported to Connecticut Childrenβs Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.
The vehicle's operator remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The collision remains under investigation by the Manchester Police Department. East Center Street was reopened to traffic after the scene was cleared.
