MANCHESTER, CT — A petition urging Manchester officials to "keep Main Street wide and historic" is now on file.

Members of the group "Save Downtown Manchester" were hailing certification by the town clerk's office in anticipation of the next Board of Directors meeting on June 4.

The petition asks town officials to maintain four lanes of traffic "in Downtown Manchester" and maintain a minimum of 110 parking spaces in the Forest Street parking lot.

The group is opposed to many proposed changes to the Downtown area outlined in a revitalization project.

The next Board of Directors meeting is slated for June 4 at 7 p.m.
