MANCHESTER, CT — A townwide property revaluation is set to begin in Manchester this week, municipal officals said Monday.

The process is required by state law and will take effect for the Grand List of October 1, 2021, which means the revaluation will correspond to tax bills that will be due beginning in July 2022.

Three firms submitted proposals during the bid process and the bidder selected was Vision
Government Solutions Inc. of Northboro, MA. Vision also performed Manchester's revaluations in 2000, 2006, 2011 and 2016. Vision has been in business for more than 30 years and has performed hundreds of revaluations in Connecticut, officials said.

The revaluation is designed to determine the "fair market value" of every property in town and "equalize the values of all properties for the purpose of a fair distribution of the tax burden," town offcials said.
