Man Killed in Manchester Highway Crash: Update

MANCHESTER, CT — State police said an Enfield man died in a serious crash on Interstate-84 in Manchester on Monday night.

The crash took place at 7:50 p.m. on I-84 eastbound near Exit 63 in Manchester, state police said. Details were released Tuesday morning by state police.

The incident involved one car that crashed into the center median, state police said.

State police said a 2000 Nissa Maxima driven by Gilberto Rivera, 33, whose listed address is in Enfield, was heading east when it crossed into the center median and then hit a tree. Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
