Suspended Driver Charged In Manchester Scooter Vs. Car Crash
Manchester police over the weekend located a driver sought in a hit-and-run crash.

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police over the weekend located a driver sought in a hit-and-run crash involving a car and a teen on a scooter. She turned out to have a suspended license and was using an illegal registration plate, police said.
Police said Catherine Fryer, 26, of Hartford, was arrested Sunday in connection with the accident, which occurred Friday on West Middle Turnpike near the New State Road intersection. Police said vehicle Fryer was driving collided with a 15-year-old boy on an electric scooter as he was driving to school. Both Cheney Tech and East Catholic High School are nearby.
Police said Fryer fled the scene before they arrived.

The boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police made public images of the vehicle captured on surveillance cameras.

"Through the community's collaboration and support, officers were able to locate the evading vehicle, identify Fryer as the driver, and make an arrest," police said.
Fryer has been charged with:
- Evading responsibility
- Risk of Injury to a minor
- Driving while under suspension
- Misuse of marker plate
- Insufficient insurance

Fryer was being held on a $100,000 bond and has been issued a court date of July 8 in Manchester, police said.
