Investigators believed both were also involved in multiple motor vehicle thefts that occurred between Dec. 17 and Dec. 20. Officer Jonathan Sargolini, Manchester Police Department's member of the the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force, gathered enough for arrest warrants for Tromley’s involvement in the three vehicle thefts, according to a report.

Police said Sargolini located Tromley in the area of Hawley Street and Madison Street Wednesday. Tromley was out on bond in the stolen vehicle case.

Three warrants charged him with:

  • Third-degree larceny for a car theft on Bigelow Street on Dec. 17.
  • Second-degree larceny for a car theft on the 200 block of West Middle Turnpike in Dec. 19.
  • Third-degree larceny for a car theft on the 700 Block of Main Street.

Tromley is currently being held on a total of $150,000 in bonds and was to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Thursday at GA-12 in Manchester on 1/27/2022 should he remain in custody.

All four of the thefts involved vehicles that were left unattended and running, police said.

Manchester police released an accompanying statement:

"We want to remind everyone that should you need to leave your vehicle unattended. Turn the vehicle off, lock the doors and take your keys with you. If your vehicle is equipped with a push to start ignition, this does not change how you should leave the vehicle unattended. Turn the vehicle off, lock the doors, and take your key fob with you."
