
The National Weather Service has just issued a Thunderstorm Watch until 2 a.m. for Hartford and Litchfield counties. Fox 61 Meteorologist Rachel Frank said, "A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for Litchfield and Hartford Counties until 2 AM. Still unclear how much storms to our west can hold together as they move in around 10-12 AM. Ingredients for severe weather are certainly better north and west."

Here is the National Weather Service's forecast for tonight in the area:
Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then a slight chance of showers between 10pm and 11pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 56. South wind 11 to 13 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms,
