So what happens? You scrub, wash and rinse your way through the pile of greasy, caked-on disaster and think you’re FINALLY done.

So how exactly do you clean a stainless steel sink? Many people think that harsh chemicals and rough sponges are the key to success – but those chemicals and pads like steel wool can actually scratch and tarnish the sink.

Instead, go green. Use a combination of baking soda, white vinegar, and a soft sponge or towel. Sprinkle a few tablespoons of the baking soda into the dry sink and use the clean, damp sponge to rub it around the basin…working with the grain of the sink. Let it sit for about ten minutes, then pour the white vinegar into the sink and watch it work it’s magic. After the foam has disappeared, rinse the sink with water and wipe it down with a dry rag.
