MANCHESTER, CT — Temporary stop signs were still in place in a busy section of Manchester Friday after a traffic light was damaged by a dump truck the previous day.

Paving has been ongoing in the area.

According to police, the dump truck became entangled in the wires associated with the traffic light at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road, the Interstate 84 and I-384 ramp, and the center entrance to the Plaza at Buckland Hills shopping area.

That is one of the busiest sections of Manchester in the epicenter of the Buckland Hills commercial district.

The traffic light had to be removed because of the damage and all-way stop signs were set up in its place. They were three abreast on each side of the intersection. The road was closed for a portion of Thursday, police said.
