MANCHESTER, CT — Today we inaugurate a new periodic series on Manchester Patch, highlighting young student-athletes who are considered "unsung heroes." They are not necessarily the big star, but rather one who works hard, is a good student, is a positive influence and strives for the betterment of his or her school and/or community.

Name: Marc Provera
School: Manchester High School, grade 12
Sport: baseball
Nominated by: Lisa Provera

"Marc Provera is a senior at MHS who plays baseball and has since he could hold a bat and glove. He is an honor student who is always kind to others and very accepting. He is always volunteering to help umpire Little League games. He’s a hard worker and his coach, Gary Marineau, would say the same. He may not be Division 1 material, but his love and passion for the game is definitely Division 1!"
