Varsity Schedules Set to Begin in Manchester

MANCHESTER, CT — Schools are all now back in session throughout Connecticut, and athletic teams have been practicing for nearly two weeks. Looking forward, opening day for Manchester, Easts Catholic and Cheney Tech varsity squads is literally just around the corner.

Here are the scheduled regular season openers for the Manchester-based teams:

MANCHESTER

• girls soccer - Friday, Sept. 8 at South Windsor, 3:45 p.m.
• girls volleyball - Friday, Sept. 8 vs. South Windsor, 5 p.m.
• football - Friday, Sept. 8 at Enfield, 7 p.m.
• cross country - Saturday, Sept. 9 at Windham Invitational, 8 a.m.
• boys soccer - Monday, Sept. 11 at East Catholic, 3:45 p.m.
• girls swimming - Tuesday, Sept. 12 vs. Maloney/Platt, 4 p.m.

EAST CATHOLIC

• girls soccer - Friday, Sept. 8 vs. East Hartford, 3:45 p.m.
• girls volleyball - Friday, Sept. 8 at East Hartford, 5 p.m.
• cross country - Saturday, Sept. 9 at Windham Invitational, 8 a.m.
• boys soccer - Saturday, Sept. 9 at East Hartford, 10 a.m.
• football - Saturday, Sept. 9 at Avon, 1 p.m.
• field hockey - Monday, Sept. 11 vs. South Windsor, 3:45 p.m.
• girls swimming - Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Farmington, 3:45 p.m.

CHENEY TECH

• girls volleyball - Friday, Sept. 8 vs. Ellis Tech, 5:30 p.m.
• football - Saturday, Sept. 9 at Thames River, 6 p.m.
• boys soccer - Monday, Sept. 11 vs. Aerospace, 3:45 p.m.
• cross country - Tuesday, Sept. 12 vs. Windham Tech, 3:45 p.m.
