HARTFORD, CT — A Manchester man charged with murder in Vernon this week was arrested again for apparently trying to sneak drugs into Hartford Correctional Center after his post-arraignment transfer in the homicide case.
At 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, 23-year-old Abdul Raheem Mboob was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, conveyance of an unauthorized item into a correctional institution and refusal to submit to fingerprinting requirements.
Mboob, who was being moved to HCC after failing to post a $5 million bond in the homicide case, refused to cooperate during his intake procedure, state police said.

Vernon police said he was searched during their booking procedures. Mboob was questioned in the homicide investigation Monday evening and arraigned Tuesday on charges that include murder, evidence tampering, first-degree strangulation, interfering with an investigation, issuing a false statement and risk of injury to a child.
A state police arrest report did not specify where the controlled substance was hidden at the HCC intake. An extra $5,000 was tacked onto Mboob's bond total after the state police charges, records show.
