The signature vests worn by Walmart employees are getting a bright new look.

MANCHESTER, CT — The signature vests worn at work by Walmart employees are getting a bright new look.
It's out with the traditional blue vests — worn by store associates for years — and in with what executives are describing as, "a modern gray look with a neon blue, green or pink trim."
Walmart has not redesigned its employee uniforms since 2014.

It's a progression from a more relaxed dress code instituted in 2018.
"Last year, we changed our dress code to allow store associates to wear clothes they feel more comfortable in — like jeans and sneakers. The response has been amazing, and associates all over the country are bringing their personal styles to work every day," according to the announcement. "But one thing remained the same: the signature blue or green vest with a yellow Walmart spark. Associates love the new dress code, but they’ve been saying for a while now that the vests need a makeover.
"So, we’re giving that old vest a new look."
The rollout will start this year, according to the announcement.
