What's On For the Weekend: Feb. 18 - Feb. 20

Why Go: Take your mind off the state budget, the school and town budgets, your family finances and any other worries on your mind for an evening of laughs with Dwayne Perkins. A Brooklyn Native, without the cynicism of those who have been in the business too long, Perkins' comic instincts and writing skills give him a fresh delivery. Don’t be surprised if you see him in TV shows or movies in the near future.

Where/When: The is held Saturdays at VFW Post 2046 (608 E. Center St.) in Manchester from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

Why go: The market is loaded with hard to find knickknacks, keepsakes and treasures that you are unlikely to find too many other places.

Where/When: Mohegan Sun  at 1 Mohegan Sun Blvd in Uncasville, Friday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. 

Why Go: If you love country, Rascal Flatts  is one of the hottest acts around. With expressive vocals and songwriting , mixed with powerful harmonies and musicianship, they straddle the pop music line. In the past 10 years, all six of their studio albums have made Billboards Top 100 Country Albums of the Decade Listing. Rascal Flatts plays with special guests Luke Bryan and Chris Young

Price: $115 and $85

Where/When:  in Windsor Locks, on Sunday, Feb. 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Kids (and adults) get the chance to play pilot by climbing into the cockpits of a full-motion flight simulator, two static flight simulators and 12 vintage aircraft, including the famous Vought Corsair of WWII, the North American F-100 Super Sabre, a DC-3 airliner, helicopters and more.

Price: Free with admission to the museum, which is: Adults (ages 12+), $10; Children, ages four to 11, $6; Children under the age of four are free. Seniors over age 65 get in for $9.

When/where: The Clay Pen  at 997 Farmington Ave in West Hartford, on Saturday, Feb. 19, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Why Go: Grab your favorite gals or your favorite guy: At this "paint your own" pottery studio, let your imaginations be your guides. How often are we encouraged as adults to just play? I dare you! And it still leaves you to plenty of time to continue the fun after you’re done decorating your pottery masterpiece.

Price: 2 for 1 studio fee. Can’t beat that, and feel free to BYOB and snacks.

The Kennedys at Northwest Park

Where/When: Northwest Park; Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Listen to music from the Kennedys, an acoustic band that blend elements of folk, rock, pop and gospel, in the park while enjoying  complimentary gourmet coffee from The Beanery and homemade goods from the Friends of Northwest Park.
