Women's Record Holder Withdraws From 2021 Manchester Road Race
An elite runner has withdrawn from the field for the 2021 Manchester Road Race.

MANCHESTER, CT β A top runner has withdrawn from the 2021 Manchester Road Race field.
The Manchester Road Race Committee announced Tuesday that course record holder and former champion Buze Diriba has withdrawn her entry.
Diriba notified race officials that she is unable to compete due to health reasons. The 27-year-old runner from Ethiopia set the course mark of 23:57 in 2017 when she edged Molly Huddle by a step at the finish line.

Just five days ago, race officials announced Diriba would be in this year's field.
The 85th annual Manchester Road Race is slated for 10 a.m.on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 25). The race starts and finishes on Main Street in Manchester.
