Wrong-Way Driver Intercepted In Manchester
State troopers were able to get a suspected drunken wrong-way driver stopped on a stretch of highway in Manchester, according to a report.

MANCHESTER, CT — State troopers were able to safely wrangle a wrong-way driver on a stretch of highway in Manchester early Friday morning.
At 12:12 a.m., state police were dispatched to Interstate 384 eastbound in Manchester after receiving a report about a vehicle traveling the wrong way.
According to an arrest report, troopers saw the vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound travel lanes in the area of Exit 4 and they were able to safely stop it. They later identified the driver as 21-year-old Bonifilio Ortiz-Perez, of Hartford.

Troopers suspected Ortiz-Perez of being drunk and he subsequently failed a sobriety test and arrested, according to details of the stop.
He was charged with driving under the influence, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, reckless driving, second-degree reckless endangerment, drinking while driving, operating without minimum insurance, driving without a license, and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

Ortiz-Perez was held overnight on a $10,000 bond and was to appear in Manchester Superior Court, on Friday, state police said.
