$10 Million Roof Repair Expected for Gampel Pavilion

UConn's board of trustees plan to vote on the project next week.

The University of Connecticut Board of Trustees will consider a $10 million plan to repair the roof and ceiling of the 25-year-old Gampel Pavilion basketball arena.

The board is expected to approve the plan at its meeting April 29, according to a Hartford Courant report. Ceiling tiles and a roof sealant are degrading and causing leaks in the 10,000-seat arena that was built in 1990, according to the report.

The arena lighting system already is being replaced.
