15-Year-Old Pours Oil On Car 'For Fun' In Mansfield: State Cops

A juvenile is accused of pouring oil on a car as part of a burglary binge in Mansfield, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — A 15-year-old who poured oil on a car "for fun," was charged with several crimes for that antic plus a related burglary, state police said.

The incidents took place on Sept. 19 at 3:47 p.m., according to an arrest report. The juvenile was charged with felony conspiracy, third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, sixth-degree larceny and interfering, according to a report.

The boy tried to climb up to a porch at a Hillcrest Road, but fled the property when another juvenile, a resident of the home, startled him, state police said. He was eventually caught at the intersection of Hillcrest and East roads, according to a report.

Before that, he allegedly stole a heater and some change from a home on Hanks Hill Road and poured oil on a vehicle on Hanks Hill "for fun," according to a report.
