Portuguese vocalist Ana Moura’s soulful and riveting interpretation of her land’s captivating fado style has made her a star, and the youngest fadista to be nominated for a Dutch Edison Award. Fado, a deeply expressive and poetic form of song, personifies the Portuguese psyche with its universal themes of lost love, separation and longing. Ana Moura has achieved great success in Portugal and abroad and was even invited to sing onstage with The Rolling Stones in Portugal after the group saw her perform in a local fado bar.
