From the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association is this information from Judy Whelan, executive director of youth and adult soccer referees. This year, soccer referees are required to attend one in-service program in addition to passing the on-line test.
I want to let you know that there is a grade 8 referee inservice clinic in Bolton next week on 3/5 at Bolton High School. It is being taught by Rick Eddy, whom as you may know is now Director of Referee Development at US Soccer. There are still 25 spots available, please contact the referees in your pool to attend. This session will fulfill a portion of the 2016 recertification requirements and the focus of the clinic is on AR’s/Offisde. The feedback from those that have already attended one of these sessions has been overwhelmingly positive. Let’s work together to improve the level of officiating in CT.
The referees should log into the e-referee system on the left hand side of www.ctreferee.net, on the next page scroll down to register for a referee event, then on the next page, under their personal information is a down arrow that says select event type. Choose clinics and courses then the Bolton session, or any other appropriate clinic, click off the two releases, and submit. If the page then is blank hit the back arrow twice. The session will be listed on the original log in page under the box Upcoming clinic for which you are registered.
