Courtney Drops In To See Federal Grant At Work In Mansfield
A federal grant will give Mansfield's Four Corners bike and pedestrian connectivity.

MANSFIELD, CT — U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney Thursday met with Mansfield Town Manager Ryan Aylesworth and other local officials to discuss $1.952 million in federal Community Project funding that Courtney and the Town of Mansfield worked together to secure in the FY26 federal budget to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety and accessibility to Storrs Center.
The funding will be paired with $1.25 million in federal funding and local contributions that Congressman Courtney and the Town of Mansfield previously secured for the much-needed infrastructure project that serves the fast-growing Four Corners area by creating bike and pedestrian connectivity on CT-195 (Storrs Road) between US[1]44 (Middle Turnpike) and Tower Loop Road.
The project for the Town of Mansfield was passed by Congress and signed into in February 2026. It is one of 15 total Community Projects in Connecticut’s Second District that Congressman Courtney worked with towns and non-profits to secure funding for in the FY26 federal budget.
