Coventry Man Arrested Following 2 Store Robberies in Mansfield

MANSFIELD, CT — A Coventry man has been arrested in connection with a pair of Wednesday robberies in Mansfield, state police said.

At 3:44 p.m., the Troop C barracks received reports of two separate commercial robberies in Mansfield — at Domino’s Pizza on Storrs Road and the nearby CVS/Pharmacy.

Responding troopers, with the assistance of UConn Police, determined that both incidents involved the same man and that a firearm had been displayed during each of the alleged incidents, state police said..

No injuries were reported.

A short time later, the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jacob Neff, of Coventry, was located on foot near the Price Chopper Supermarket on 1220 Storrs Road and taken into custody without incident, state police said. Neff was cooperative during the investigation and directed troopers to the location of a facsimile firearm, which he admitted to discarding nearby, state police said.

Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crimes Squad responded to assist with the investigation.

Neff was charged for each incident with:

• First-degree robbery
• Sixth-degree larceny
• First-degree threatening
• Possession of a facsimile firearm
• First-degree breach of peace

Neff was held on $250,000 cash/surety bonds for each incident and was to appear in Rockville Superior Court Thursday
