Driver Charged With DUI After Incident In E.O. Smith Parking Lot: Cops
Witnesses reported a "heavily intoxicated" driver at E.O. Smith to state police, who quickly intervened, according to an arrest report.

STORRS, CT β A 44-year-old Ashford woman is facing a drunken driving charge after a mishap in the E.O. Smith High School parking lot.
The incident took place last Friday at 8:40 p.m., a busy time in Downtown Storrs.
Troopers working a special detail at the school were approached by a civilian, who told them a blue pickup had just arrived in the school parking lot and the driver appeared to be "heavily intoxicated," according to an arrest report.

A witness also said the truck had just knocked over a handicapped parking sign in the lot, according to an arrest report.
Troopers intervened and the driver subsequently failed a sobriety test and was charged with driving under the influence, state police said.
