E.O. Smith Advances to Girls Basketball Quarterfinals

Four teams from north-central Connecticut were victorious Thursday; five more area squads play Friday night.

Four Thursday night games in the CIAC girls basketball tournaments involved teams from north-central Connecticut, and local squads prevailed in each of them to advance to the quarterfinals.

E.O. Smith advanced in the Class LL tournament with a 51-34 win over Amity. South Windsor and Glastonbury (Class LL) and Enfield (Class M) were also victorious.

Five more teams from the region will be in second-round action Friday night: Northwest Catholic and Farmington (Class L) and Canton, Windsor Locks and East Windsor (Class S).
