E.O. Smith Boys and Girls Sweep Fermi in Cross Country

E.O. Smith had a big day on the road in Enfield, shutting out both the boys’ and girls’ cross country teams from Fermi by 15-50 scores.

Mackenna Spalding was second to Fermi’s Sydney Nash in the girls’ race, covering the 3-mile course at Powder Hollow Park in 21:04. However, Fermi did not field a full five-runner team, so the Panthers were awarded a forfeit victory.

The boys had no difficulty with the hilly course, placing the first seven runners across the finish line to earn the shutout. Patrick Briody was the overall winner in 16:51, followed by Kyle Timmons and Brian Balkus.

Complete girls’ results were not available. The top 10 finishers in the boys’ race were:
