Young Members Hike - Appalachian Mountain Club

On Friday, December 24, the Young Members Hike will meet at Case Mountain in Manchester. Start off the holidays with a 3-hour hike and enjoy lunch with a view from the summit. This Young Members hike will cover leader's choice of carriage road and trail through the forest and rolling hills.  They will hike at a steady 2.5 mph pace, plus breaks. The group will meet at 10:15am for a 10:30am start.

Directions - I-384 East, Exit 4, turn left onto Spring St, right onto Highland Rd, right onto Birch Mountain Rd and immediate right into Case Pond parking lot. Bad weather cancels. Bring stabilicers or similar traction in case trails are icy.

Contact Bill Wheeler at bwheelshiker@yahoo.com or 860-324-7374 for more information.

If you have not hiked with this group before, please be sure to call or email the hike leader for the hike (or other event) in which you would like to participate. This will help you to choose a hike that is at your experience level (mileage, pace, strenuousness, weather concerns, water/food/gear).

Please note that all CT-AMC Young Member events, though intended for participants in the 20's -30's age group and are run by Young Members, with young members' interests in mind, are nevertheless open to all.

If you are not an AMC member, you're invited to join the Club through the Chapter Website. Please click on this link to join:
