Falling Tree Sends 3 To Hospital In Storrs: Reports

A tree fell on an occupied vehicle in an incident involving several UConn students, according to reports.

STORRS, CT — Three people were taken to hospitals after a tree fell on a vehicle while it was occupied Friday night in Storrs, according to reports.

The incident occurred about 11 p.m. in a commercial parking lot in the 100 block of North Eagleville Road, FOX 61 reported, adding four of the five people involved were UConn students.

Three were brought to Windham Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, and one was later moved to Hartford Hospital, NBC CT reported. Investigators were looking into if stormy weather contributed to the falling tree and whether the tree had been located on university property, according to NBC CT.
