UPDATE: Victim Identified in Fatal Mansfield Motorcycle Crash

A man from Willington was riding a motorcycle Tuesday night when he crashed into a car operated by a Vernon woman on Route 195.

Connecticut State Police have identified the motorcyclist fatally injured in a crash with a car on Route 195 in Mansfield Tuesday night.

Richard K. Nielsen, 50, of 10 Daleville School Rd., Willington, was southbound just south of Baxter Road on Route 195 when his motorcycle crashed into a northbound vehicle driven by Katharine Capshaw, 46, of 158 Brookview Drive, Vernon, at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to contact Trooper Joshua Woodward at the Troop C barracks in Tolland at 860-896-3222, ext. 8088.

Connecticut State Police are investigating a fatal crash at the intersection of Route 195 and Baxter Road in Mansfield late Tuesday night.

A motorcycle and car collided and rain caused the cancellation of a call for LIfeStar to respond to the scene, according to FOX Connecticut.
