Former UConn Soccer Player Charged With Burglarizing Geno Auriemma's Restaurant
A ex-UConn soccer player from Tolland was apparently wearing shorts depicting his team number during the burglary.

MANSFIELD, CT — A former University of Connecticut soccer player has been charged with burglarizing the Downtown Storrs restaurant owned by UConn Women's Basketball Coach Geno Auriemma.
Brendan Hill, 20, of Tolland, was charged this week on an active arrest warrant with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.
The burglary at Geno's Grill, 9 Dog Lane, was reported on Sept. 15, according to a warrant. He is accused of sneaking into an unlocked front door, taking liquor and fleeing the scene at 3:38 a.m.

State Police used his UConn soccer player biography, in part, to identify him after watching surveillance video, according to a warrant. The video and still photos from the surveillance system show him wearing shorts with No. 31 on them, his uniform number at UConn, according to a warrant.
When visiting the Husky soccer office, state police were told that Hill has been "released" from the team over the summer, according to a warrant.

Hill is due in court on Oct. 30, according to an arrest report.
According to Hill's UConn soccer biography, he was a defender who played attended Tolland High School.
