On Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10 am, The Windham Textile and History Museum will sponsor the tenth installment in its Mill of the Month Program. This month participants will visit the Kirby Mill in Mansfield Hollow, CT. The Kirby Mill has been used for the production of thread and eyeglasses and is presently used for machine design and fabrication. Of special interest will be the current installation of an innovative turbine system which uses flowing water to produce electricity. The tour, given by Michelle and Sam Shifrin, will include the exterior of the mill and some interior areas. Cost is $8 per person, $5 for museum members. Registration is suggested by calling 860-456-2178.
