Joshua’s Trust Guided Walk at Pigeon Swamp Preserve

Joshua’s Trust Walk at Pigeon Swamp Preserve, Lebanon on Saturday, December 7, 2013.  Come join naturalist Tom Harrington for a walk on the Joshua Trust’s Pigeon Swamp Preserve in Lebanon. The walk will start at 10:00 am and last about 2 hours. We will observe the property and living things. The property’s name comes from the fact that, at one time, it likely served as a roosting site for the once-abundant, now extinct Passenger Pigeon. Please dress warmly, depending on the weather.

Directions: From the intersection of Routes 32 and 203 in South Windham, turn at the light and go up Machine Shop Hill Road until you see the firehouse on the left, where the road flattens out a bit. Take the first left after the firehouse onto Pigeon Swamp Road. The road ends in about 1 mile. We will meet in the small parking lot at the end of the road at 10:00 am.  Maps are available on the Trust website:  www.joshuaslandtrust.org.  For more information, contact Stephanie Clark at stephanie.clark@joshuastrust.org or 860-429-9023
