Korean War Veteran from Mansfield Receives Medal

ENFIELD, CT - U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney presented medals to 16 area Korean War veterans Monday, including one from Mansfield.

Each recipient, or a family member if deceased, was awarded the Korean Ambassador for Peace Medal, presented by the government of South Korea.

The honorees were:

• Mr. Anthony W. Kotula PH.D., Mansfield – 1st Lieutenant, United States Air Force, 15th Reconnaissance Squadron, 67th Air Wing of the 5th Air Force
• Mr. Roger W. McCully, Enfield – Private, United States Marine Corps
• Mr. Neil P. Hunt (deceased), Enfield – Fireman, United States Navy, USS Stormes (DD-780)
• Mr. Robert G. Hughes, Enfield – Petty Officer 3rd Class, United States Navy, USS Oglethorpe (AKA-100)
• Mr. Elwood M. Eastman (deceased), Enfield – Private First Class, United States Army, Company G 279 Infantry Regiment 45th Division
• Mr. Joseph E. Pelletier, Enfield – Sergeant, United States Marine Corps
• Mr. Benedetto P. Frangiamore, Enfield – Petty Officer 3rd Class, United States Navy, USS Delta AR-9
• Mr. Frank P. Lucey, Enfield – Sergeant First Class, United States Army, 1821 Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion 23rd Infantry
