Lecture -- The Politics of the Crucifixion: What it Tells Us About Our World

UConn Professor of Psychology Felicia Pratto will examine key components of the Crucifixion—including torture, genocide, military occupation and resistance to oppression—that continue to drive much conflict today. This examination can shed new light both on the Passion itself and its implications for important contemporary human struggles related to politics, turmoil, war, conquest and liberation. Professor Pratto is an expert on power, prejudice and intergroup conflict, and her recent research includes global responses to protest movements, popular uprisings and conflict in the Middle East.  The event is free and all are welcome.
