WINDHAM --- The acclaimed a cappella ensemble Take Note! will perform a benefit concert,“Music to Warm the Heart,” to help mothers and children who are in need of a safe, supportive,sheltering environment. The vocal group performs on Sunday, December 8, at 3:00 p.m., at First Congregational Church of Willimantic, 199 Valley Street, Willimantic to raise funds for the Holy Family Home and Shelter. The concert features songs of the holiday and winter season in various musical styles, including jazz, traditional, and multicultural. Donations accepted at the door will help the Willimantic-based shelter provide a temporary home, meals, job search assistance, and life management skills in its 28-bed facility. Take Note! is a 24-voice a cappella ensemble based in Mansfield, and is comprised of select, talented, local singers from diverse backgrounds who enjoy challenging, eclectic musical styles.
