Man Injured in Mansfield Shooting
A Mansfield man is facing several charges following the weekend incident, according to state police.

A Mansfield man is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday on charges stemming from what Connecticut State Police say was an accidental shooting over the weekend.
State Troopers from Troop C in Tolland were dispatched to Windham Hospital at 6:16 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18 for a report of a male with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Troopers interviewed the suspect, who said he drove the unidenfieid male victim to the hospital. The initial investigation determined that the gunshot was accidental, and the handgun was later recovered at the victimβs residence, police said.

State Police Eastern District Major Crime Detectives responded to the Thornbush Drive residence in Mansfield to continue the investigation.
Stephen Ferriss, 21, of Thornbush Drive, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and interfering with an officer.

Ferriss was released after posting a $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Rockville on Tuesday, according to police.
