Mansfield Boy Scout Troop 61 Hosts Open House

The Boy Scout Troop 61 from Mansfield, CT is hosting an Open House on Monday, September 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at their Scott Hall located at 41 Babcock Hill Road, just over the town line in Coventry. At the Open House, the Scouts will demonstrate campfire-building skills, cooking techniques with making a dump cake and other Scout activities.
The Open House is for boys (and their parents/guardians) who are 11, or at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light of Light Award, through 17 years old. Boy Scouts experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership to achieve Boy Scouts of America’s objectives of developing character, citizenship and personal fitness.
“Being in Scouting is an adventure of a lifetime,” said Scoutmaster John Oliver. “Not only is Scouting about camping, fun and friends, it’s also about how boys’ time in Scouting will make a difference in the person they become tomorrow.”
