Mansfield Crash Claims The Life Of Eastern CT Teen

A Tuesday night car crash in Mansfield claimed the life of a teen, authorities said.

MANSFIELD, CT — A Tuesday night car crash in Mansfield claimed the life of a teen from nearby Brooklyn, authorities said.

The crash took place on Route 6 at about 7:30 p.m. It was raining heavily at the time.

The 21-year-old driver, Tyler Sorel, also of Brooklyn, was headed west on Route 6 when the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree, authorities said. It came to rest in the center median, according to authorities.

A 19-year-old passenger, Britney Wilson, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a report.

Sorel was taken to Windham Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
