Mansfield Fire Department Gets Hydrant Grant
The DEEP announced the awards on Wednesday.

MANSFIELD, CT - The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection on Wednesday said that Mansfield was among eight local fire departments in seven communities have been awarded State Fire Assistance Dry Hydrant Grants.
Both Willington departments and the Union department also received grants.
The grants will help fund the cost of installing 14 dry hydrants, according to the DEEP.

The grants are administered by DEEP’s Division of Forestry and have been made available through the U.S. Forest Service State Fire Assistance Program.
The program provides a $1,500 cost-share reimbursement for the installation of each dry hydrant.

Departments receiving grants are:
- Baltic Fire Department - $3,000.
- Clinton Volunteer Fire Department - $3,000.
- Mansfield Fire Department - $3,000.
- Middlefield Volunteer Fire Department - $4,500.
- Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department - $1,500.
- Union Volunteer Fire Department Inc. $1,500.
- Willington Fire Department No. 1 - $3,000.
- Willington Hill Fire Department - $1,500.
