Mansfield Memorial Day Parade Set For May 30
Veterans and those In active service are invited to march.

MANSFIELD, CT - Mansfield will officially observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 30, town officials said.
A parade is slated to will begin at 9 a.m. from the intersection of Rt. 195 and Bassetts Bridge Road in Mansfield Center.
The procession will travel North on 195, down Cemetery Road to the new Mansfield Center Cemetery. A short ceremony will take place at the cemetery. Mayor Paul Shaprio will give the welcoming remarks, state Sen. Mae Flexer, D-Killingly, will give the main address and state Rep. Gregory Haddad, D-Mansfield, will present the Governor’s Proclamation.

Music will be provided by the Mansfield Middle School Band and the E.O. Smith High School Band.
Three volleys will be fired and taps sounded in honor of the fallen. The units will then return to Bassetts Bridge Road.

All veterans and active duty personnel are invited to march at the head of the parade. They will be forming a line on Bassetts Bridge Road at 8:30 a.m. on Memorial Day.
In the event of inclement weather, an abbreviated ceremony will be held in the Mansfield Middle School Gymnasium at 9 a.m., town officials said.
