
Gerard “Tootsie”A. Dancosse, 69, of Mansfield, husband of the late Dorothy (Hosmer) Dancosse, died Tuesday December 6, 2016 at St. Mary Hospital Vitas wing.
He was born July 26, 1947, the son of the late Joseph and Blanche (Vachon) Dancosse. Tootsie was very patriotic and donated to many veteran organizations. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helped sponsor the Bent-n-Twisted Tattoo softball team. Tootsie was an avid New York Yankee and Washington Redskin fan. He loved his pets, especially his dog Bowser.
Tootsie is survived by a stepson Ethan Shipton and a granddaughter Sarah. He was predeceased by two stepsons Daniel and Steven Shipton; and eight brothers Robert, Leo, Roger, Albert, Henry, Richard, Maurice and Norman Dancosse.

Tootsie’s family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Monday December 12, 2016 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. A graveside service held Monday December 12, 2016 at 12:00pm at Litchfield Cemetery, Bigelow Rd., Hampton.
