
Mary Knight, 90, of Mansfield Centre and formerly of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Torquay, England on December 18, 1925 and served in the Royal Navy during World War II as a radio mechanic. She emigrated to the United States from England in 1964, and worked in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools as a schoolteacher. She loved bird watching, travelling with her family, sailing, and the water. She loved being surrounded by cats.
Mary and her family are extremely grateful for the loving care given to her by Elissa Cote and Carol Hetrick from Community Companions and Homemakers, and to all of the many friends and other caregivers who helped with her care.

Mary is survived by her daughter Kate Knight, her son Robert Knight, and her son-in-law Michael Weitz who loved her as his mother; also her sister Nell Buell and her daughters, Penelope Pierce and Dawn Fox. She is also survived by her brother John and his wife Cleone Brockman and their children, Nicholas, Chris, and Annie Brockman.

Respecting Mary’s wishes, no services will be held. She will be dearly missed by all.
