Mansfield Officials Hosting Info Session on Crumbling Foundations
Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman is expected to attend.

MANSFIELD, CT - In collaboration with the towns of Coventry, Tolland and Willington, Mansfield officials will be offering an informational meeting to provide homeowners with an update regarding the work the state is doing to address crumbling home foundations.
The session is slated for 6:30 p.m. on May 11, 2016 in the E.O. Smith High School Auditorium.
Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman is expected to attend, and staff members from the state Department of Consumer Protection and the state Insurance Department will make a presentation, town officials said.

The presentation will be be followed by a question-and-answer session, town officials said.
Each town has sent a letter to homeowners owning a dwelling built between 1983-2003.

Cracks have been located in many homes throughout eastern Connecticut and the problem has been traced to a bad batch poured by the J.J. Mottes Company in the 1980s or 1990s, state officials said.
The state Department of Consumer Protection has a Web page designed to assist those affected.
State Sen. Tony Gugliemlo, R-Stafford, has been pushing a law to make any related complaint registered with a state agency confidential.
