MANSFIELD WEATHER UPDATE: Heavy Rain, Fog and Wind in the Forecast

After a glorious weekend of weather, which brought bright sunshine both days, and 70 degrees on Saturday, it’s back to reality today.

We’ll be dealing with heavy rain and fog for most of Monday and Monday night. Winds will be gusty between 25-30 mph for most of the day.

Up to an inch of rain is expected with the temperatures hovering in the high 40s to low 50s.

Rain will continue Monday night with another half inch possible before it ends early Tuesday. The temperatures should rebound on Tuesday as cloudy skies turn partly sunny in the afternoon and a high of 70 degrees possible.

More rain showers are possible Wednesday, followed by sunny skies Thursday, Friday, and into the weekend. Each day the temperatures are forecast to be in the low to mid-50s.

• Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between midnight and 3am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 48. East wind 5 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Tuesday: A chance of showers, mainly before 10am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 65. South wind 6 to 9 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. Southwest wind 3 to 5 mph.
• Wednesday: A chance of showers, mainly after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 59. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
