Masked Bandit Holds Up Bank Branch In Mansfield

The suspect is believed to have used an older model maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee as a getaway car.

MANSFIELD, CT β€” State police are looking for a masked bandit who held up a bank branch in Mansfield Friday.

At 11:27 a.m., state police were alerted to a bank robbery at a branch on Storrs Road.

No weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported and a man fled the scene prior to police arriving, according to an incident report.

The suspect is believed to have used an older model maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee as a getaway car.

The suspect is being described as a white male, about 5-foot-10 with a slender build and 30 to 40 years old. He had a pale complexion and was wearing a dark hoodie, sunglasses, a baseball cap, tight black leggings, a white and red face covering and was carrying an olive-colored satchel, state police said.

The name of the bank was not included in a preliminary report. Anyone recognizing the suspect or Jeep can call state police at 860-896-3200. State police released images of the suspect and getaway car:
